Thsi wine was the result of an unusual set of circumstances. The second year of harvest of Cabernet from Meredith experienced rare climatic conditions with heavy rains in February followed by a long, cool ripening period. Late picking was enforced by winery constraints and the result was a spectacular wine. The colour is intense, vibrant red, the nose is unmistakably cabernet with strong blackcurrant and blackberry contributions, the palate is incredibly rich and satisfying with enormous fruit presentation balanced by crisp acidity and soft, dry tannins giving a finish that is clean and dry. It is a wine that can be an accompaniment to strongly-flavoured dishes, but it also lends itself to being consumed without food for the sheer joy of drinking it
